The Korden Lateral File has taken years to perfect. The Grade "A" Lateral File that is available to you now is quiet simply the best lateral file on the market! We build our files in three widths and four heights.

Drawer configurations can accommodate both legal and letter front-to-back filing or side-to-side. Half-height drawers are available for the storage of file cards, computer data, and VHS tapes. Matching overfiles are also available for binders and other storage requirements.

All Lateral Files go through a rigorous assembly process which includes additional spot welds at all the identified stress points, a ladder frame that provides unsurpassed strength, and full extension ball bearing slides that are the smoothest and quietest slides in the business! All files have been painted by using a powder coat process that ensures the most resilient finish available.

We start with the highest quality furniture grade steel available. We use 18 gauge steel which offers a stronger case than most of the other manufacturers who are still using the lighter weight 20 and even 22 gauge steel. Then we go well beyond the others by using a 16 gauge reinforced horizontal cross brace between every drawer as well as extra corner supports throughout the file. The base of the cabinet is also made with heavy duty 16 gauge steel. This ensures a cabinet shell that is considerably stronger and more durable than other files.

Notice in the picture below the horizontal cross brace, reinforcement in the corners, the interlock mechanism centered on the back wall of the cabinet, and the simplicity of the lock/interlock interface.

Of course all these features wouldn't amount to anything if we didn't use the highest quality hardware, and Accuride drawer slides that carry a Lifetime Replacement Guarantee in the event they ever fail.

There are also a host of options available including half-height drawers, receding doors, various filing configurations, and finishes in 18 standard colors.

All typical filling configurations are available by simply specifying the appropriate letter in conjunction with the model number when placing your order.

Damage as a result of improper installation, improper handling, modifications, or abuse are not covered by Korden. Korden's responsibility is to repair or replace the product at the Korden factory. Freight is to be prepaid by the customer. Replacement or repair will be solely at the discretion of Korden.
